The Ellen DeGeneres Show to be checked for Racism and a Toxic work environment

Ellen DeGeneres’ show has been investigated after numerous claims of a “toxic work atmosphere”, media reports. Several program employees recently told Buzzfeed anonymously that they were intimidated by the show’s producers, allowed themselves inappropriate jokes, and were disrespectful. In addition, they said racism and discrimination took place. WarnerMedia has initiated an internal investigation and due diligence.

Executives at production company Telepictures and distributor Warner Bros Television sent a memo to employees last week informing them that WarnerMedia had hired a third-party firm to interview current and former employees who were involved with the show.

Earlier, 10 employees also reported that some had their pay cut during the pandemic, while others were fired after returning to work from sick leave. No specific claims were made against Ellen DeGeneres herself, although some employees claimed that they were ordered not to speak to the TV presenter if she was in the office.

Comedian Kevin Porter, on the other hand, tweeted it urging people to share stories of DeGeneres’ rude behavior. So, in the comments, for example, they said that the TV presenter demanded employees to chew gum before contacting her.

But still, the claims are mainly against the three executive producers of the show – Ed Glavin, Mary Connelly, and Andy Lassner. Allegedly, they were the ones who created a toxic environment for employees. The executive producers expressed regret over the current situation but did not provide any detailed comments.
