The deputy governor of New York announced her readiness to take his place

Deputy Governor of New York Kathleen Hochul said that the outgoing head of the state, Andrew Cuomo, promised a “smooth transfer of power” amid allegations of sexual harassment.

“I spoke with Governor Cuomo; he will provide full support for a smooth transfer of power,” Hochul said at a press conference in Albany, the state capital.

American TV channels broadcasted the meeting with journalists.

Hochul said that although the situation was unexpected, she was ready for this day. “People will soon find out that my style of work is to listen first and then take action,” she said.
