The Crown Prince will temporarily perform a number of duties of the Emir of Kuwait

Crown Prince Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah of Kuwait will temporarily perform “some duties” as the Emir of the state, who was hospitalized earlier, according to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

Earlier on Saturday, the office of the Emir of Kuwait reported that the head of state, Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, was hospitalized for medical examinations. The office also added that the 91-year-old Emir is doing well.

“By decree of the Emir, the heir to the throne will temporarily perform some of the constitutional duties of the Emir,” the Agency quotes the Minister of the monarch’s office, Sheikh Ali al-Jarrah al-Sabah.
