Vaccination of seniors from coronavirus could begin in the US in the fall, and Junior high school students will have to wait until the beginning of 2022, said the main infectious disease USA Anthony Fauci.
“If it is realistic to predict when we will get enough data to say that primary school students can be vaccinated, then I think it will be the earliest end of the year. It’s very possible that the first quarter of 2022,” Fauci said on NBC.
“But for the guys in high school, it looks like it will be at some point in the fall. I’m not sure it will be the first day of the school year, but it’s close to that,”Fauci added.
In most US school districts, classes had not resumed since March 2020, when virtually all schools in the country closed for coronavirus quarantine.
The problem with vaccinating schoolchildren is not so much the lack of a vaccine, but none of the three vaccines approved for use in the United States is yet approved for children. At the same time, it is known that children most easily carry the virus from all age groups.
