Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani passed a test for coronavirus, which showed a positive result, reports the TV and radio company IRIB regarding the public relations department of the Parliament.
“After the appearance of some symptoms, the speaker of the Parliament was tested for coronavirus. Taking into account the positive result (analysis), he is currently quarantined and undergoing treatment,” the report says.
Now the head of the Majlis of Iran has become the highest-ranking representative of the Iranian authorities infected with the coronavirus.
Earlier, a representative of the Parliament said that 23 out of 100 deputies who were tested were found to have a coronavirus. There are 230 legislators in the Majlis.
