Traditionally, Apple does not disclose the battery capacity of new smartphones at the presentation. So it happened with the iPhone 12 line.
Thanks to the information provided by the Brazilian regulator ANATEL, the battery capacity of the two younger versions – iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 – has become known. So, according to these data, the iPhone 12 mini has a 2227 mAh battery, and the iPhone 12 has a 2815 mAh battery.
Brazilian site Tecnoblog claims to have found documentation for all four new iPhone models. However, information about the battery capacity of the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max has not yet been disclosed. Early leaks attributed the iPhone 12 Pro to 2,775mAh, the iPhone 12 Pro Max to 3,687mAh.
It turns out that the new products have less batteries than last year’s models. For comparison, the iPhone 11 has 3110 mAh, the iPhone 11 Pro has 3046 mAh, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max has 3969 mAh.
At the same time, the battery life is the same. iPhone 12 mini provides 15 hours of standard video playback, up to 10 hours of video streaming, and up to 50 hours of music playback on a single charge.
Both the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro offer up to 17 hours of video playback, up to 11 hours of video streaming, and up to 65 hours of audio playback, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max offers up to 20 hours of video playback, up to 12 hours of video streaming, and up to 80 hours for audio playback. This seems to be due to the efficiency improvements introduced by the A14 Bionic chip.
