All state employees of the state of California, as well as medical personnel, will be required to be vaccinated against the coronavirus in August, otherwise, they will be regularly tested.
Earlier, similar measures were announced by the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio.
“75% of California residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, but this is not enough. Starting from August, civil servants and medical workers must provide documents on vaccination or undergo regular tests. The pandemic among the unvaccinated has already arrived and vaccines are the solution,” the state administration wrote on Twitter.
In turn, the governor of the state, Gavin Newsom, said that “California will have the most serious verification of vaccination in the United States.”
