The British media told how Russia constantly outplays the United States

The words of US President Joe Biden speak about the poor awareness of the United States administration about the situation in Russia, columnist Mark Galeotti comes to this conclusion in an article for the British edition of The Spectator.

Earlier, the American leader said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has only oil and nuclear weapons at his disposal. The Kremlin advised Biden’s aides to study background information on the share of the oil and gas sector in Russia’s GDP.

The columnist drew parallels between Biden’s words and the statement of former US President Barack Obama. The American president said that Russia does not produce anything attractive for buyers, “except weapons and gas.”

The article notes that Russia is demonstrating success in the service sector and the IT industry. According to the author, Biden’s words are caused by a wrong understanding of the Russian economy.

Galeotti is sure that the erroneous perception of Russia allows Moscow to “constantly outplay the United States.”
