The British appreciated Putin’s article for Zeit

Readers of the Daily Mail commented on an article by Vladimir Putin for the German newspaper Die Zeit, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Many of them agreed with his view that the United States and NATO had provoked a split in Europe.

“Since its inception, the United States has been at war with someone almost all the time. Only 30 years of peace. Now tell me, who is the rogue state after this?” – expressed the opinion of the user Karlosmot1919.

“How strange, when of all the world leaders, only Putin speaks the case,” said Frederickmaximus.

Germany, like most Europeans, wants to drive the Americans out of the continent,” DocDaneeka said.

“NATO was a defensive organization in 1949. Think of Yugoslavia and Libya. Do you think these are also defensive campaigns?”  V bat one wondered.

“Putin is right. Still right,” TheUnbeliever says.

“The West is destroying itself from within. Putin has only to tap lightly on the glass wall — and it will shatter,” users summed up.

Putin’s article “Be open, despite the past” was published on the Day of Remembrance and Mourning, in the publication Die Zeit. In it, the president spoke about the relations between the USSR and Europe in the past and noted that Moscow sought to develop them, but a different approach prevailed in the West. He also stressed that Russia is open to honest creative cooperation and this is confirmed by the idea of creating a common space of cooperation and security from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.
