The Bidens decided to have a cat

US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill said that they plan to have a cat, a new pet will join their two dogs, who already live in the White House.

The president and first lady confirmed in an interview with NBC News that they intend to have a cat.

When asked by the host whether it was the president’s idea, Biden, smiling, replied: “No, but it’s easy.” The wife of the president, commenting on the words of the journalist that their dog Major will now have to get along with the cat, noted that this was part of his training.

The last US president whose cat lived in the White House was George W. Bush. His cat, India, died just before he and his wife left the White House in January 2009.

In March, a three-year-old Biden Shepherd named Major bit a White House security officer, after which she and a second dog named Champ were transported from the White House to Delaware. Biden noted that the departure of the dogs is not related to the incident. That same month, Major again bit another White House staffer, who had to take a break from work and seek medical attention. After that, the dog was sent to an additional training course.
