Authorities decided to close playgrounds in New York, as citizens did not comply with regulations on distancing themselves in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said at a news conference on Wednesday.
“We will take tougher measures. We are going to close the playgrounds in New York City. I warned people that if they don’t stop crowding, playing (group sports) – you can’t play basketball, you can’t contact, we will close the grounds,” Cuomo said.
According to him, this remains a problem. Open spaces and parks will remain available. “But enough games, enough basketball,” Cuomo said.
