Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg contracted the coronavirus, observes home quarantine, there are no symptoms of the disease yet, APA reported, citing a spokesman for the minister.
“Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg tested positive for coronavirus, as his press secretary told APA on Saturday morning,” – the Austrian news agency reported.
According to him, the persons with whom the minister contacted will be tested for coronavirus. It is noted that on Wednesday the minister took part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers, as well as in a plenary meeting of the Austrian National Council.
As the agency adds, “there is a suspicion” that Schallenberg could have become infected on Monday at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU countries in Luxembourg. As a precaution, all members of the Austrian government will be tested for COVID-19 on Saturday.
