The acting head of Bolivia will present a bill to hold new presidential elections

This decision is expected by the whole country, said Jeanine Anez.

Bolivia’s acting President Jeanine Anez said on Wednesday that she will send a bill to Parliament in the coming hours to call early presidential elections.

“If it is God’s will, today in the morning we will announce the convening of elections, as the whole country wishes, we will act responsibly,” Agnes was quoted as saying by the local news agency Agencia Boliviana de Información.

The politician added that in accordance with the Constitution, the bill on voting will be sent to the Multinational Legislative Assembly (Parliament), the majority of seats in which are held by supporters of former President Evo Morales. If the document is not approved, Agnes intends to announce the convening of elections by presidential decree. “If the Assembly does not allow, we will find other mechanisms, but the elections will be held in the country. We guarantee it,” she said.
