Terrorists attacked the positions of the Syrian army in Idlib

Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists tried to break through the positions of the Syrian army near the village of Hamrat, said the head of the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties, rear Admiral Alexander Shcherbitsky.

“All the attacks of the militants were repulsed, while they suffered significant damage in manpower and equipment. There are also losses among the Syrian military,” he said.

According to Shcherbitsky, the situation in the southern regions of the Idlib de-escalation zone has worsened due to the ongoing provocations of militants. In July alone, Russia recorded more than 140 violations of the ceasefire in Idlib. At the same time, he noted, the terrorists, under the guise of an agreement on the cessation of hostilities, are increasing their military potential.

The rear Admiral stressed that the current situation once again underlines the need for Russia and Turkey to join efforts to eliminate terrorists in Idlib.

“Over the past day, no attacks were registered by illegal armed groups controlled by Turkey,” he added.

At the same time, the military recorded attacks on nine localities from al-Nusra positions.
