Tehran claims that ex-FBI agent Levinson left Iran many years ago

Levinson’s family is convinced that he died in Iran in custody.

Official Tehran said on Thursday that a former FBI agent who disappeared in Iran in March 2007 left the country many years ago.

This statement goes against the statement of Levinson’s family, according to which he died in custody in Iran.

“Based on reliable evidence, Levinson left Iran many years ago for an unknown destination,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said on state television.

“In recent years, Iran has tried to find out his future fate, but could not find any signs that he is alive,” Mousavi claimed.
