Tampa defeated the Islanders with eight goals

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New York Islanders in the fifth game of the Stanley Cup semifinal series.

The match, which took place at the Amalie Arena, ended with a score of 8:0 in favor of the hosts of the venue. Steven Stamkos (1 minute and 26th) and Alex Killorn (16, 38) scored for the winners, while Yanni Gourde (12), Ondřej Palat (36), Luke Schenn (53), and Brayden Point (42) each scored a goal to extend their scoring streak to eight games in a row.

The Russian forward of “Tampa” Nikita Kucherov scored three assists, and the goalkeeper Andrey Vasilevsky made the third shutout in the current playoff draw. The Islanders had a goalie change in the 15th minute with a score of 0:3. Semyon Varlamov blocked 13 of 16 shots, and Ilya Sorokin, who replaced him, made 19 saves on 24 shots.

The score in the series to four wins was 3-2 in favor of “Tampa”. The sixth match will take place on June 24 at the Nassau Coliseum in New York.
