Strategic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the US air force RQ-4B Global Hawk, made a 6-hour flight near the borders of Russia in the Baltic Sea. It is capable of exploring hundreds of kilometers in depth of territory of the perceived enemy, reports “Interfax”.
American drone took off from an airbase Sigonella from Sicily and led the exploration around the Kaliningrad region, while in the airspace of Ditva at an altitude of 15 thousand meters. Later he walked into the airspace of Estonia in order to conduct reconnaissance along the border of Pskov region.
On the board RQ-4B Global Hawk is a high-resolution camera, infrared sensor and radar to track moving objects. It is intended to conduct strategic aerial reconnaissance to a depth of more than 300 km on enemy territory. When flying at high altitudes, the Global Hawk can scout (survey) large areas, transmit high-resolution point target data, and send real-time intelligence via satellites.
