Storm Fay in the United States weakened to a tropical depression

Reaching the US coast, tropical storm Fay has weakened to the level of a tropical depression, according to the US national hurricane tracking Center (NHC).

Fay weakened to a tropical depression over Southeast New York,” the center said in a statement. According to him, the wind speed reaches 56 kilometers per hour.

Earlier it was reported that the storm Fay reached the coast of New Jersey in the North-East of the United States. It was expected to pass over New York and other states in the northwestern United States, where heavy rains and strong winds are expected. On Friday, US President Donald Trump warned of the threat of storm Fay but assured that Federal authorities are ready for it.
