Spiegel reported on the Russian hackers attack the Bundestag

At least seven deputies of the Bundestag were victims of a hacker attack, behind a group of hackers Ghostwriter, allegedly related to Russia, Spiegel claims, citing its own information.

According to the newspaper, in addition to the deputies of the Bundestag, the attack affected 31 members of the Landtag (Land Parliament).

Attackers sent out phishing emails by email. It is not yet clear if there is a data leak. The affected politicians mainly belonged to the CDU / CSU bloc, and the Social Democratic Party of Germany are part of the ruling coalition.

According to government sources and the MPs, political activists in Hamburg and Bremen were attacked.

The German counterintelligence service refused to comment on the next alleged attack by “Russian hackers” on the German Bundestag.

“The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) does not comment on this issue,” the German counterintelligence agency said.

The west countries has repeatedly accused Russia of interfering in internal affairs and cyber attacks. Russia denied all accusations, stating that Western countries did not provide any evidence. Moscow has also repeatedly stated that it is ready for a dialogue on cybersecurity.
