South Korea and the United States conduct joint air force maneuvers on a reduced scale

According to the Agency Yonhap, the maneuvers also involved Australia.

The Republic of Korea, the United States, and Australia are conducting joint combined maneuvers of the air force. This was reported on Tuesday by Yonhap, citing a military source.

According to him, the two-week exercise started on Monday, April 22, in the Republic of Korea. Several dozen aircraft, including f-15K, KF-16, and F-16 participate.

According to Yonhap, the current maneuvers are carried out on a reduced scale. In fact, it serves as a replacement for the air force Max Thunder exercises held since 2009. At least a hundred aircraft usually took part there.

According to the Agency’s source, Seoul and Washington made such a decision so that the holding of military games, which invariably cause criticism from the DPRK, did not prevent the diplomatic process of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Since last year, South Korea and the US have announced the suspension of a number of large-scale joint maneuvers, including the summer Ulchi Freedom Guardian and the winter exercises of the air force Vigilant ACE. Some of them have been renamed and will continue on a more modest scale.
