Soldiers of the National Guard blocked the streets near the Capitol

Soldiers of the National Guard are involved in Washington in connection with the Capitol incident; they block some streets.

Earlier on Friday, an unknown car crashed into a guardrail near the Capitol, injuring two police officers. The police said that the driver of the car was arrested, and an investigation was launched. The media reported that the detainee died.

Because of the incident in the center of the American capital, the National Guard forces blocked several streets.

As the National Guard of the capital told Free News, a rapid response team consisting of soldiers and pilots of the National Guard was sent to respond to the incident.

“Due to the secrecy of the operation, we cannot disclose the details,” the National Guard said, stressing that none of its employees were injured.

The Washington police, in turn, told that they are also sending their officers to respond to the incident but stressed that the incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Congressional complex police.
