Snyder named his most underrated film

The director had to cut more than 70 explicit moments from Sucker Punch, but the film was still criticized for being overly sexualized.

The creator of Guardians and 300 Spartans, Zach Snyder, said that his most underrated work was the fantastic action movie Sucker Punch, about five girls trying to escape from a mental hospital amid adventures in an alternate reality. In the Russian box office, the tape was called “Prohibited Reception”.

“Well, this movie was supposed to have an R rating, right. It was really stressful and scary. This film is the most misunderstood of those that I have shot ”, – quotes the director of Screenrant.

The director had to cut more than 70 explicit scenes from Sucker Punch, but the film was still criticized for the excessive sexualization of the characters, flat plot and “boring”. Neither episodes of katana fencing with samurai demons, nor action scenes with futuristic weapons, nor explicit dance numbers saved him.

Snyder was extremely unhappy that, due to the pressure of the producers, he had to deprive the film of many bright but ambiguous scenes, almost completely redrawing the main version, but he still failed. However, the director’s cut has survived, and fans of Snyder are waiting for its official release.
