Serbia is protesting against the President’s policy. Authorities promise to punish demonstrators

In Belgrade are the next action of opposition against the policy of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic. A group of demonstrators led by opposition members Bosko Obradovic and Dragan Gilas broke into the building of the state television RTS (Serbian TV and radio company “radio and television of Serbia”), according to the local newspaper Kurir.

To get to the premises, the protesters, according to him, threw stones at the police, pushed the guards and broke the door. They refused to comply with the requirements of law enforcement officers who asked them to leave the building.

Demonstrators demand freedom of the media as a prerequisite for free and fair elections.

The Serbian President Alexander Vucic said that participants in the riots during the protests in Belgrade will be punished. About it reports broadcasting company “Radio and television of Serbia” (RTS).

“The violence has come to an end. Everyone involved in the violence will answer for it”, he said.

He added that more than 1,000 people broke through the fences around the presidential Palace. Later, the interior Ministry said that the demonstrators broke the cordon in front of the President’s residence.
