Senate approves Victoria Nuland as Deputy Secretary of State

Blinken welcomed Nuland’s confirmation, noting her extensive experience in various fields.

The US Senate has confirmed Victoria Nuland as Under Secretary of State for

“I am very pleased that Victoria Nuland has been confirmed as Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs, “Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted.

“Her deep experience in a variety of areas will be significant to the State Department and me as we advance a foreign policy that delivers real results for the American people,” he added.

Nuland worked at the State Department for 32 years: she was Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, ambassador to NATO, and held some other positions.
