Selena Gomez criticized Facebook for spreading false information about coronavirus

28-year-old Selena Gomez has been a frequent critic of popular social networks. This time it hit Facebook.

Yesterday she tweeted a BBC video featuring the Centre’s CEO to Counter Digital Hate, Imi Ahmed. He says that companies like Facebook do their best to keep out false information about the coronavirus in the video. According to Gomez, they are actually doing absolutely nothing.

Scientific misinformation has a cost and will continue to cost lives. Facebook said it will not allow lies about COVID-19 and vaccines to be spread on its platform. So why is this still happening? Facebook will be responsible for thousands of deaths if it doesn’t take action now! Gomez said.

This is the second time in the last month that the singer has criticized the social network. She recently accused Facebook as well as Instagram of supporting Nazi organizations. The star was extremely outraged that the platforms were posted on T-shirts’ sale with White Lives Matter and swastikas.
