Scientists have announced a decrease in cognitive abilities in those who have had COVID

Those who have been ill with COVID-19 have a significant decrease in intelligence, scientists from Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge came to this conclusion.

Aspects of cognitive abilities were measured in patients. The results of the study are published in the journal The Lancet.

It is noted that the majority of patients who had problems were observed with the performance of tasks much more often than those who did not encounter the virus.

81,337 people participated in the experiment, 12,689 suffered COVID-19.

The greatest difficulty was revealed when solving problems that require argumentation and planning skills. Scientists said that the greatest difficulties with the test occurred in those who were connected to a ventilator.

Representatives of universities also did not find a link between the decrease in cognitive abilities and the time that has passed since the beginning of infection.
