Scarlett Johansson speaks out about the necessary death of Black Widow in “Avengers: Endgame”

When Natasha Romanoff met her end in Avengers: Endgame, many fans were upset because they decided that the heroine had not been said goodbye the way she deserved. But Scarlett Johansson herself believes that the death of her character was necessary and correct. She spoke about this once again in a recent interview with Total Film.

Scarlett remarked that Nat’s act was her own choice, her only opportunity to help others repair the damage Thanos had done to the universe.

Natasha had an incredible 10-year journey, and I felt that she was finally able to make the right choice. The greatest sacrifice she makes seemed very characteristic of the character, the actress shared her thoughts.

Johansson also added that if you look back at the films with the participation of Black Widow, it becomes clear that they all led her to the need to make this choice. Endgame screenwriter Christopher Markus agrees with this opinion. In one of last year’s interviews, he noted that the five-year-jump in time showed how Natasha is focused on the desire to make the world around her normal again. She literally lived on this thought, and as soon as she had the opportunity to contribute to the salvation of humanity and help get the Soul Stone, she hurried to use it.

Soon, fans will have a new meeting with Natasha, which will help to say goodbye to the heroine as it should be. Black Widow hits theaters on October 28.
