Samurai Warriors series exceeds 8 million

The Koei Tecmo company announced that the sales of games of the famous Samurai Warriors series have exceeded 8 million copies. That’s an impressive number, even considering that the first game in the series was released in 2004.

Prior to this, the company reported information about the circulation in January last year, then it was 7.7 million. Thus, since then, it has sold about 300 thousand copies.

Samurai Warriors began life as an offshoot of the musou slasher Dynasty Warriors. She made her debut in 2004 on the Playstation 2 and Xbox. And the newest part, Samurai Warriors 5, was released at the end of June on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game has received very positive reviews on Steam, and you can check out its demo there.

In Samurai Warriors 5, we will have a story about the life of officers Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi during the Sengoku period, from the end of the Troubles of the Onin years to the incident at the Honno-ji temple. The fifth part is considered by the creators as the beginning of a new series and at the same time a reboot of the original Samurai Warriors.
