Recently, Letsgodigital showed renders of a Samsung foldable tablet, the release of which is indicated by numerous leaks. And now, it looks like the intentions of the South Korean company have been confirmed.
Samsung Electronics has filed an application with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) to register the Galaxy Z Fold trademark. It belongs to the category of smartphones and tablets, but since the company has already registered the brands “Galaxy Z” and “Z Flip” for smartphones, “Galaxy Z Fold”, according to sources, refers specifically to tablets.
Thus, the foldable tablet will join the Galaxy Z series, which already has several models of smartphones with flexible screens. By the way, two more new products are expected to be announced in the middle of the year – Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Samsung’s foldable tablet is reportedly to be released in the first quarter of 2022. It is credited with S Pen support, a large display that folds inward, and a new type of UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) protective coating. True, it is not yet clear what kind of design the gadget will have – from two or three parts.
