Samsung has promised to update smartwatches with Tizen within three years

Yesterday, June 28, during an event at MWC, Samsung not only revealed the new Wear OS system, but also shared information about the current smartwatch with Tizen on board.

The Korean manufacturer, in which once confirmed that the current line of watches will definitely not receive a new version of the OS. Nevertheless, the company does not intend to stop supporting the devices. The manufacturer is going to update the old smartwatch and support the Galaxy Store for three years. These rules will apply for the following models:

  • Galaxy Watch
  • Galaxy Watch Active
  • Galaxy Watch 3
  • Galaxy Watch Active 2

That is, the original Galaxy Watch, which was released in 2018, will receive its latest firmware in the near future. The 2019 Galaxy Watch Active and 2019 Galaxy Watch Active 2 are scheduled to be updated for another year. As for the Galaxy Watch 3, they will be supported until 2022 inclusive.
