Actor Ryan Gosling will star in the action-drama directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2) and written by Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3). Details of the plot and the title of the picture were not disclosed. It is known that Gosling will play a stuntman, and there is anecdotal evidence that the film will be based on the 1981-1986 series “Stuntmen”. The main character, the Hollywood stuntman Colt Sivers, is engaged in investigating crimes and searching for criminals between filming. In his work as a detective and bounty hunter, he uses his knowledge of stunt tricks.
Deadline reports that the project is largely personal to David Leitch. Like his John Wick co-star Chad Stahelski, Leitch began his filming career as a stuntman. At one time he was an understudy for Brad Pitt and Jean-Claude Van Damme. For a long time, Litch tried to find a script for a film about stuntmen that would suit him. In his opinion, films in this genre should become popular after Brad Pitt played the stuntman Cliff Booth in Quentin Tarantino’s film “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.”
Universal will finance the picture. The approximate budget is $125 million. The date of the premiere has not yet been announced.
