Russia has called on the United States and its allies to abandon exercises in the Black Sea

The Ukrainian-American Sea Breeze exercises increase the risks of unintended incidents in the Black Sea, so it is important to abandon them, the Russian Embassy in the United States said.

The maneuvers will take place from June 28 to July 10, involving five thousand troops and 32 ships from 32 countries.

“The scale and clearly aggressive nature of the Sea Breeze exercises in no way correspond to the real security challenges in the Black Sea region,” the diplomatic mission said on Twitter.

It also says that the exercises “encourage militaristic sentiments in Kyiv.”

“We urge the United States and its allies to abandon the practice of military operations on the Black Sea,” the diplomats wrote, pointing out that the problems arising in the region can be solved without imposing external assistance.
