Russia calls on NATO to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has called on NATO countries to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.

Grushko added that the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance should show Kyiv that it is time to stop speculating on the topic of Ukraine’s accession to NATO, as such actions “stimulate the war party in Kyiv.”

Earlier, Russia called the condition for a dialogue with NATO. According to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Moscow is open to holding a meeting of the NATO — Russia Council, but only if the meeting will discuss specific issues related to reducing military tensions.

In early June, Russia warned about NATO’s plans to secretly transfer modern weapons to the Donbas. The official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, warned about Ukraine’s intention to use the Sea Breeze-2021 exercises to obtain modern weapons and ammunition. He stressed that during the above-mentioned exercises, which are planned to be held from June 28 to July 10 with the participation of NATO countries, they are going to involve about four thousand military personnel, 40 warships, boats, and auxiliary vessels, as well as 30 units of aviation equipment and more than a hundred cars and armored vehicles.
