US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan thanked Moscow for providing medical equipment to fight COVID-19, and the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko – for ventilators, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Health reported.
According to the report, the working meeting, in particular, discussed the development and production in Russia and the United States of tools for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, including a vaccine against coronavirus.
Also, during the conversation, the American Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Russian side for the medical equipment provided during the first stages of the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
“This was a serious step on the part of Russia, which the American people appreciate very much,” Sullivan said, as cited by the Ministry of health’s press service.
In response, the Minister of health “thanked his American colleagues for the donation of a batch of artificial lung ventilation devices to the Russian Federation, which will be used in the Russian regions.”
