Rumors: PUBG 2 canceled, and the engine of the first part will receive a significant improvement

An insider PlayerIGN, who specializes in the activities of Krafton, in April spoke about the creation of the sequel to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. And in a recent interview with The Loadout, he shared fresh details on this matter. According to him, the creation of PUBG 2 was canceled, and now the developers will be engaged in significant improvements to the engine of the first part.

PlayerIGN’s statement reads: “My source told me that PUBG Project RE: BORN was originally intended to be the PUBG 2 game we were waiting for, but the development team ran into issues and instead took on a significant engine improvement for the current game – a bit like Overwatch 2″.

Additionally, PlayerIGN spoke about an unannounced battle royale codenamed Project Titan. It is being created by Striking Distance and will be linked to another studio project – the horror film The Callisto Protocol. A mention of this game was found among Krafton documents with a list of projects in development.

Let’s remind: PlayerIGN has already been noted with reliable leaks. So, an insider spoke about the existence of mobile PUBG: New State before the official announcement.
