Roxette soloist Marie Fredriksson dies

Died soloist Duo Roxette Marie Fredriksson. She was 61 years old. The Swedish edition Expressen reports it.

“It is with great sadness that we must announce that one of our greatest and most beloved stars has passed away. Marie Fredriksson died on the morning of December 9 at home from illness,” wrote long-time Manager of musicians Roxette Marie Dimberg.

According to her, her husband Mikael Boles and their two children mourn most of all Marie’s death.

In 2002, Marie Fredriksson was diagnosed with a brain tumor. A few days later, she underwent surgery. She was successful, but for several years, Marie underwent chemotherapy and rehabilitation.

Roxette is one of the most popular pop-rock bands in the history of the music industry. The Swedish Duo became famous after the release of the first song Neverending Love in 1986. The Duo has released six albums and sold over 75 million records worldwide. Roxette has topped the US charts four times, and the UK charts 19 times.
