Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo was dissatisfied with the quarantine measures taken at the club before the national team matches.
According to Football Italia, citing La Gazzetta Dello Sport, after two Juventus employees were diagnosed with a coronavirus, they decided to isolate the players for several days in a hotel near the base. By that time, they had passed tests twice, which showed a negative result. However, according to the protocol, the players had to be checked a third time a few days later.
Ronaldo refused to be isolated because he did not want to miss the friendly match between the Portuguese national team and Spain (0: 0), in which he eventually took part. Moreover, Cristiano made a scandal by raising his voice to the club leaders in the presence of teammates. After the incident, a number of other players, including Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado, Danilo, Rodrigo Bentancourt, and Merich Demiral, followed the example of the 35-year-old striker and went to the location of their national teams.
