Rihanna recently gave an interview to Access, where she remembered her outfit for the Met Gala 2015. Then the singer flashed on the red carpet in a gold dress with fur and a super long train. The theme for the Met Gala that year was “China: Through the Looking Glass”. Rihanna says she saw this outfit while researching Chinese fashion online. She ended up ordering this dress from Chinese designer Guo Pei, which she had been hand-sewing for two years. Rihanna’s outfit was recognized as one of the most spectacular at the ball, and the singer’s photo graced the cover of Vogue, dedicated to the Met Gala.
But Rihanna admits that she felt very insecure in this outfit. Despite the fact that Met Gala implies extravagant outfits, the singer compared herself to other guests of the evening and came to the conclusion that she looks like a “clown”.
I remember that I was very scared and afraid to get out of the car onto the carpet. It seemed to me that I overdid it. When I drove past the carpet, I saw that everyone was wearing dresses and I thought: God, I’m a clown, people will laugh at me, I really overdid it.
