Italian cruise ships calling at ports in the Apennine Peninsula are making changes to their routes.
For example, ships currently at sea will only enter Italian harbors to disembark guests heading home. Excursions for passengers in the cities of parking will not be held, and new tourists will not be accepted on board the vessel.
It is assumed that the restrictions will be in effect until April 3, 2020, inclusive.
“As an Italian company and the only cruise operator whose liners fly the Italian flag, we are committed to complying with regulations and supporting the Italian authorities and society in dealing with an emergency,” said Neil Palomba, President of Costa Cruises.
In the past week, the company has canceled all cruises outside the Mediterranean to reduce the risk of infection and ensure that the government’s measures are implemented.
