Research: air conditioners help spread coronavirus indoors

Air conditioners can spread the coronavirus indoors. This conclusion was reached by researchers from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Guangzhou, writes SCMP.

Scientists began to conduct this study after three families – 10 people – became infected with coronavirus infection while dining at the same restaurant in southern China. Scientists believe that the airflow from the air conditioner could spread coronavirus drops throughout the room.

Experts urge restaurants to further increase the distance between tables when countries begin to quarantine, but the virus has not yet been defeated. In addition, it is necessary to increase the ventilation of the premises and, apparently, to develop new types of ventilation, the researchers note.

Despite the results of the study, the team of scientists has not yet conducted experimental experiments that would simulate air flows with the possible transfer of particles to other people.
