Realme could switch its smartphones to OPPO ColorOS shell again

Realme has launched a poll on the official forum, which hints that soon the company’s smartphones may lose the proprietary Realme UI shell.

It looks like Realme wants to switch its devices back to the interface of the parent company OPPO. At least four out of six questions hint at this. They are all about ColorOS. In addition, the latter actually asks what name of the shell to show on devices: ColorOS or ColorOS for Realme.

For those who do not know, initially Realme smartphones already worked on ColorOS, but then, when the company became popular, it created its own shell – Realme UI. Although it is similar to the OPPO interface, it still differs in some features. Why the company plans to return to ColorOS, she does not yet say, but it’s easy to guess that this will simplify software development. After all, you don’t have to come up with new features for each brand.

By the way, a similar situation recently happened with OnePlus smartphones in China. They now come with the ColorOS for OnePlus interface instead of Hydrogen OS.
