In the American capital, several marches and rallies of the current president’s supporters will be held today, who may face their ideological opponents.
Several mass rallies involving supporters of President Donald Trump are planned for this Saturday in Washington, including the “MAGA million march” (Make America Great Again), a rally of the “Women for Trump” movement and a demonstration called “Stop theft,” the organizers of which support the President’s unproven allegations of vote fraud in the November 3 election.
President Trump tweeted on Friday: “It’s heartening to see all the huge support, especially the coordinated rallies that are taking place across the country, including a major one on Saturday in the district of Columbia. I might even try to look at it and say, Hello.”
Trump refused to concede defeat in the presidential race against Democrat Joe Biden, the presumptive winner of the November 3 election, citing election irregularities in several swing states. State election officials did not report serious voting irregularities that could affect the outcome of the race.
The rallies are supported by conservative media, as well as white nationalists. Simultaneously, anti-fascist and anti-racist groups announced counter-demonstrations in the American capital on the same day.
Representatives of the far-right group “Brave guys” said that this movement’s members would be present at the demonstrations. According to the Washington Post, the “Stop the theft” caravan moving towards Washington from Texas is led by the well-known author of conspiracy theories and host of the TV program “Infowars” Alex Jones.
Pro-Trump protests are expected to take place in other major cities across the country.
