The Atlanta Hawks have signed a two-year, $ 15 million deal with point guard Rajon Rondo, according to insider Shams Charania.
The Georgia team hopes that 34-year-old Rondo will become a valuable veteran who will help develop Tray Young and become a mentor to the youth. The Los Angeles Lakers have begun work early to acquire point guard Dennis Schroeder of the Oklahoma City Thunder with the clear understanding that Rondo is leaving the team.
Rondo was instrumental in winning the Lakers the NBA title at the season’s restart in Orlando. He suffered a fractured right thumb shortly after arriving at the Disneyland complex but was able to return to the playoffs with an average of 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.6 assists. At the same time, in 16 matches, Rajon Rondo entered the court from the bench.
