Qualcomm is working on Snapdragon Wear 5100 processor

Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon Wear 4100 wearable processor in 2020, and is now preparing its successor.

Dataminers from XDA-Developers digging through the code on the Qualcomm Code Aurora forum noticed a new identifier LAW.UM.2.0-00700-SW5100.00. The letters LAW in the name stand for Linux Android Wear, and SW5100 is probably the name of the new chip – Snapdragon Wear 5100.

According to the leak, the processor is codenamed monaco. It will be built on the Qualcomm Bengal platform (aka Snapdragon 662/460). The processor is credited with four ARM Cortex-A73 cores. In comparison, the Snapdragon Wear 4100 has ARM Cortex-A53 cores.

Unfortunately, there are no other details and the date of the announcement of the processor yet. Perhaps the Snapdragon Wear 5100 will be shown in December along with the new flagship SoC for smartphones.
