Putin had a telephone conversation with Trump

US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, white house Deputy press Secretary Judd Deere said.

The heads of state discussed strategic stability and arms control.

The presidents stressed the importance of efforts to maintain the global nuclear non-proliferation regime, positively assessed cooperation in the fight against coronavirus. Also, they congratulated each other on the 45th anniversary of the orbital flight under the joint Soyuz-Apollo program.

The heads of state are determined to develop trade and economic cooperation. The conversation was constructive and informative
Trump told Putin that he hopes to avoid “an expensive arms race between China, Russia, and the United States,” the White House said.
