Putin answered the question about Navalny

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that blogger Alexei Navalny, who, ignoring the requirements of the law of the Russian Federation, left the country and was not registered in the authorities as a person twice sentenced to probation, deliberately violated the law.

“As for our non-systemic opposition and the citizen you mentioned. First, this man knew that he was violating the law in force in Russia. He was required to be registered as a person twice sentenced to a suspended sentence. Deliberately, I want to emphasize this, ignoring this requirement of the law, this gentleman went abroad for treatment, he was not required by the authorities for registration. As soon as he left the hospital and posted his videos on the Internet, such a demand arose,” Putin said at a press conference after the summit in Geneva.

Vladimir Putin believes that blogger Alexei Navalny, who knew that he was wanted in the Russian Federation, deliberately went to be detained.

“He did not show up for registration after being discharged from a hospital in Germany, ignored the requirements of the law, he was put on the wanted list. Knowing this, he came (to Russia). I proceed from the fact that he wanted, deliberately went to the point of being detained. He did what he wanted, so what can we talk about here,” Putin said at a press conference following the summit in Geneva, answering a question about the arrest and conviction of Navalny.
