Putin and Trump discussed reducing oil production within OPEC+

The leaders of Russia and the United States talked about the new agreements between the OPEC+ member countries.

The heads of state exchanged views on reducing the volume of black gold production, which will help normalize oil prices after the collapse of the OPEC + deal in early March.

The presidents spoke on the phone. Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump also paid attention to the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection.

President Trump and President Putin discussed recent efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic and establish stability in global energy markets. Both leaders also touched on important bilateral and global issues, ” the White House said in a statement.

The Kremlin’s press service said that US President Trump informed Putin “about his contacts with the leaders of some oil-producing countries. We have agreed to continue Russian-American consultations on this subject.”

Besides, the Kremlin reported that the conversation turned to cooperation between Russia and the United States in space.
