After the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip, 36-year-old Prince Harry decided not to stay in his homeland in Great Britain and, according to media reports, will return to California today, where 39-year-old pregnant wife Meghan Markle and their one-year-old son Archie are waiting for him.
The Duke of Sussex flew to the UK last weekend – he flew out of the United States almost immediately after learning about the death of his grandfather. He spent most of his stay at home in quarantine at Frogmore Cottage, his and Megan’s residence in the UK. Now, Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenia, lives in the house with her husband Jack Brooksbank and two-month-old son August, whom Harry managed to meet.
According to insiders, Prince Harry’s relationship with family members remains rather tense – it is said that at the farewell ceremony with the Duke of Edinburgh, some members of the royal family greeted Harry quite coldly. At the same time, he talked with his older brother Prince William and father Prince Charles – he did it for the first time in person after his interview with Megan with Oprah Winfrey, which caused a lot of noise and damaged the reputation of the royal family.
However, Charles is already ready to forget family grievances and wants to improve relations with his son – yesterday, according to insiders, he invited Harry for a walk. Nevertheless, Harry will not stay in the UK for a while: it was hard to bear the separation from his wife and son. Moreover, he was anxious about Megan, who is now in the last weeks of pregnancy, and constantly called her on the phone. So today, he will fly back to California.
Megan did not accompany her husband on the trip. The doctors advised her to refrain from flights and unnecessary stress (in the summer, the Duchess suffered a miscarriage, so now the spouses do not want to risk it again). At Buckingham Palace, her absence at the funeral was treated with understanding – Queen Elizabeth II met her grandson’s wife’s decision to stay at home absolutely fine.
