Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, secretly bought a house in Santa Barbara (California, USA) to calmly raise their son Archie after leaving the British royal family, Page Six reports.
According to the publication, they moved to the mansion back in July. In the same area live their friends – TV presenters Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
“They bought this house themselves,” the source said. “It is here that they want to continue their lives after leaving the UK. This is the first real estate they have ever owned. It was a particular time for them as a couple and as a family – until six weeks after moving, everything was kept secret”.
The source did not disclose other details related to the estate, including its price, for security reasons, but added: “They carefully considered everything. In this place, they plan to be happy: make good friends and raise Archie, allowing him to play with other children of his age”.
Earlier media wrote that over the past few months, the couple lived in Beverly Hills, in the luxurious mansion of actor Tyler Perry with 18 bedrooms. According to sources, and although Prince Harry grew up in the royal family and the halls of Buckingham Palace, he prefers “more chamber and cozy houses”.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially ceased to perform royal duties on April 1. In early January, he and his wife announced that they wanted to renounce the financial privileges assigned to them by status, earn their own money, and divide their time between Great Britain and North America.
