British Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, who refused Royal authority, signed a multi-year contract with Netflix. The New York Times reported with reference to the statements of the couple and the streaming service.
Harry and Meghan have founded a production company that will produce documentaries and TV series, feature films, and children’s programs. They will be shown exclusively on Netflix.
“We will focus on creating content that informs and gives hope. It is also important for us as young parents to create inspiring family programs,” the couple said.
The amount of Harry and Meghan’s contract with Netflix was not disclosed. In recent months, the couple has also been in talks with Disney and Apple and, according to two sources in the New York Times, discussed a contract for about $ 100 million.
In January 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced their intention to remove the powers of British royals. They stopped officially representing the Royal family and receiving government funding.
After the announcement of their change of status, the couple moved first to Canada and then to the United States. In June, they signed a contract with the lecture and public speaking Agency, which also works with former US President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.
Obama signed a contract with Netflix to produce films and TV series in 2018.
